Falling in love is a natural pleasure. Your wedding day should be, too. At The Wakaya Club, the experience of joining two lives together is celebrated with simplicity and elegance that honors the meaning of the day. The focus is on you and absolutely nothing gets in the way.
And here's the best part. When you plan a Wakaya wedding, you can choose to be deliciously alone with a ceremony and celebration reserved for two. Or you can book the entire island and open up the celebration to your closest friends and family members. When you book the island, our staff is at your disposal to create a once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience with your celebration as the focal point.
For the ceremony choose the small white 19th century style Wakaya Village church, with its exquisite wall hangings and stained glass windows. Or a ceremony at the water's edge framed by the horizon of the South Pacific.
Wedding Packages
The traditional wedding
This package includes marriage license, floral decorations and bridal bouquet, the ceremony and officiant (minister of Justice of the Peace), a Fijian choir for the ceremony and your attendants (two flower girls in traditional Fijian dress). If you wish, The Wakaya Village Chief will escort you down the aisle. A champagne reception after the ceremony is followed by a gourmet dinner with your choice of menu, a wedding cake and entertainment by The Wakaya Island Band, a ukelele and guitar ensemble.
The Fijian Wedding
Enjoy an experience attuned to the rhythms of the island. While a Fijian warrior sounds a triumphal note on the conch shell, a party of warriors in full regalia carries the bride to meet her groom at the wedding site. The couple wears traditional Fijian costumes made of hand-woven tapa cloth.
