The island is not a center of discos and wild night life, but is a large tropical South Pacific island. It is 4000 feet high, 39 miles long and 7 miles wide. It has approximately 140 waterfalls and streams, dense rainforest and bird life.

Since many of our guests are celebrating their wedding in Fiji with a tropical island honeymoon, we offer several activities with a romantic theme. A Honeymoon Island picnic, romantic dining for two or a honeymoon day on a secluded beach can be enjoyed by honeymoon couples or by any couples who want a "honeymoon" experience without the necessity of a recent wedding!

BOUMA WATERFALL
Imagine the thrill of exploring a pristine Heritage Park exploding with the sights and sounds of rare tropical birds. Here you can bathe under three magnificent waterfalls cascading through lush rainforest.

The path to the first waterfall is flat and follows a deep pretty river with clumps of red and yellow ginger enhancing its banks. The resort will pack you a picnic lunch and provide a guide if wanted.

The Bouma waterfalls are located in a pristine Heritage Park, just a 20 minute drive from the resort. This can be a short tour or take the whole day, venturing high up into the rainforest.

The fall is 100 feet high and falls into a huge pool which is great for swimming. The second and third falls are reached by a walking path through dense tropical rainforest. There are scenic lookout points and seating areas. The views are just breathtaking.

LAVENA WALK
This adventure walk was the location of the second Blue Lagoon movie. The walk takes guests along a white sandy beach looking out and down on beautiful rock pools. You will ford two rivers and pass remote villages before ascending a river valley where the river produces two sensational waterfalls which cascade down at different angles. You can then slide down the waterfall or plunge into the rock pools from the walls.

This is an all day walk and an amazing adventure!

WATERSLIDE
A natural rock slide set in the midst of beautiful tropical bush, you can enjoy the fun of hiking, swimming and sliding here.

BIRD WATCHING
Taveuni Island Resort's own guides will take you on Adventure Rainforest Walks in the tropical lush forests to watch the fabulous birds of Fiji! It may prove to be one of your most colorful encounters!

KAYAKS
Kayaks are available at the resort and are free. Skim in and out of secluded Fijian bays viewing the coral and tropical fish. Venture into the turquoise waters of the lagoon near the resort beach to snorkel and picnic on Honeymoon Island or one of the other two tiny islands.

TOUR the ISLAND
Take the opportunity to meet the friendly local Fijian people, or visit ruins and an old Catholic Mission church which has been used for movies. Drive to the end of the island through one hundred year old plantations. View the blow hole, watch the water funnel and blow through the reef.

GAME FISHING
For sport fishing lovers the resort's 25 foot speed boat and dive launch will take you to the offshore fishing grounds. Or for guests wanting extended trips there is a professional operation near the resort that uses a 36 foot launch and state-of-the-art fishing gear.

MEKE NIGHTS
Once a week the resort has a "Fijian Night." A kava ceremony is celebrated with the guests (This is a ceremony drinking the local liquor, a non-alcoholic drink made of pepper bush roots) Dancer's come in a group to perform traditional dances and songs for the guests. Food is prepared in the Fijian way and there is a Fijian feast for dinner. Some of the food is cooked under the ground.

Enjoy our clifftop swimming pool that appears to be an extension of the ocean.

MASSAGE
Taveuni Island Resort has two professional masseuses who use wonderful relaxing aromatic oil massage to ease away stress. One Half-hour to two hour massages can be arranged.

Each new day begins on the island of Taveuni. The dateline (180 degree Meridian) is a great place to travel from today to tomorrow with just one step.
