Bula, Just a quick note to thank you for picking Qamea for our latest vacation. A place we will definately return to in the near future. Everything was fabulous, the staff, food, accommodations and the diving. Linda had massages every day. Vinaka,

Bula Kellee!

Yes! Qamea was absolutely wonderful! It was everything I expected it to be and more. Everything turned out great. Beautiful, wonderful, amazing!

Ok, from the beginning...Our flights there were all on time and very comfortable. Our long plane out there was pretty empty, so we could spread out in the row. We arrived in Taveuni and someone from the resort was waiting for us. He put us in a cab (b/c he had to wait for other people coming on future flights) and we were driven the beach where the boat was waiting for us. There is no real dock, so we would have to wade in ankle/knee deep and climb on the boat. No problemo for me, but I can see how it might be hard for an older person. We arrived on the island and went straight to our bure and the outdoor shower, which was incredible. The bure was very nice and beautifully decorated (it looks just like the picture). The whole resort is very nice and very Fijian looking. There are 12 bures, but they were working on the honeymoon bure, so it wasn't available. For most the time, there were only 9 couple s there. We actually became very good friends with all the other people there. We were pretty much all honeymooners (around the same age) and most of us had been married on May 1. Two couples were getting married there at the resort. We went to one of the weddings and it was absolutely gorgeous. I almost wish we had just had our wedding there (though our wedding was awesome!).

There were plenty of organized activities everyday - hikes, waterfall visits, guided snorkling, village visits, dive trips, etc. We could also just snorkle off the coast anytime we wanted - there were amazing fish, though the coral was not the healthiest (this coming from a marine biologist) - Fiji has been having a lot of problems with their coral population. But it was still wonderful. We snorkled multiple times a day. We brought our own equipment, but they had stuff there too. You could also kayak, windsurf, etc.

The food was really, really good. Breakfast was anything you wanted - eggs, omelettes, french toast, waffles, pancakes, bacon, saugage, etc. Everyday you got a choice of 2 lunch entrees and two dinner entrees. Kristian and I usually got one of each and everything was really delicious. You could also order anything special if you wanted.

Every night when we returned to our bure, there was a "Qamea Times" waiting for us. A one page printout with pictures and a list of the next days activities and the lunch and dinner options. I'll have to bring you a copy of this.

The absolute best part of the whole trip was the people. Fijian people are so genuinely friendly and nice. Every person we met greeted us with "bula" - in town and the villages too. The workers at the resort were extremely nice and we really felt like we got to know them. Everyone knew your name and was extremely attentive. To me, it was worth it to go the extra distance to Fiji just to experience the culture.

I'm sure there is so much more you would like to know. I'll come by with some more pictures and things we bought. Hopefully these pictures that I have attached show up. Feel free to share what I have written or the pictures with other clients.

Thank you so much for everything you did for us. You were amazing!

Thanks,

–Elena
